Special Shelter Dog Loves To Cuddle With His Stuffed Animal Collection

Joey might’ve been born differently. He never let that slow him down. The 3-month-old Chihuahua wants to do everything he enriches his brothers and sisters at Vintage Pet Rescue do. He doesn’t have front legs; he still runs around the other dogs.

He is one of the joyful dogs we have ever met.” Kristen Peralta, who is the founder of Vintage Pet Rescue, told The Dodo. “He doesn’t know that he’s different, and he loves playing with toys, wrestling with the other dogs, enjoying his splash pad, and getting cuddles.”

He never does anything halfway — when he’s playing or sleeping. Once he’s run off all his energy, the pup seeks out a comfortable place in the house and falls asleep in his animal collection. He mainly enjoys resting with a Lamb Chop toy that’s just his size. “He’s a pup, he will play and he naps,” told Peralta. “he embraces his animals and takes a long nap … He loves his toys!”

.He was sent to the CT Humane Society before being taken by Vintage Pet Rescue, which is mainly for special needs dogs. Peralta’s goal is to make sure he always feels comfortable and safe.

Joey can hop upstairs, hop up on the bed, and get wherever he wants to go,” Peralta said. “It’s unthinkable to see him become around so well. No one stops him.”

After Joey is desexed and equipped for a wheelchair at Eddie’s Wheels for Pets, he will be available for adoption. Now Joey looks different. Peralta anticipates that his infectious, life-of-the-party attitude will quickly win him a loving family. “We received 100 applications for Joey,” Peralta said. “But there’s only one Joey!”
